Where do you stand on this one? Sure it's just a kids' tournament, and no one really gives a schnitt, but this kind of thing has happened in many different situations where established uniform is challenged by religious garb.
I'm a bit conflicted because although I believe all religions to be a joke, I still respect people's rights to express themselves and have their owns beliefs. But I wonder where the line can be drawn, if any. In this case it's in the interest of uniform and safety.
Where is the equality of rights? As far wearing hijab doesn't harm nobody, I think they have the rights to it.
It is sad to see some kind of racism is still allowed in our days.
I pitty moslem women living out of their societies, they try hard to indulge with their surrounding communities, but people claiming freedom of choice never leave them alone, they can never blend in western society while keeping their own beliefs, so finally they choose to hide their identities behind a western look!!! is that what we want ?? people should be free to express themselves as far as it doesn't hurt others, infact i personally feel that a girl showing too much of her body hurts and disturbs men more than a one covering her parts!!!!!! yet the other extreme is always welcomed in the "civilised" world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
some people may not agree with all these... they wud say that we as muslims are demanding on "preferential treatment" and whatsoever... it is really sad for people will take advantage of these issues.. i pray for all my sisters all over the world (even malaysia) to be stronger and more firm...

“WAHAI ORANG-ORANG YANG BERIMAN!
POHONLAH PERTOLONGAN (KEPADA ALLAH) DENGAN SABAR DAN SOLAT.
SUNGGUH, ALLAH BERSAMA DENGAN ORANG-ORANG YANG BERSABAR!”
(Al-Baqarah; 2:153)
